Becoming a psychotherapist was a decision I made later in life. For many years, I pursued my interests in personal growth and psychotherapy alongside another professional career.  I now integrate into my psychotherapy practice my learnings from Gestalt Therapy Training, Bioenergetics, Sensory Awareness, Centering, Art Therapy, Dreamwork, Psychodrama, Rubenfeld Synergy and broad life experience. I have taken continuing education workshops on abuse, grief, suicidology, narrative therapy.

For 15 years, I have been a volunteer counsellor on telephone crisis lines, providing support and intervention in complex situations, as well as training and mentoring new volunteers. In addition, I serve on a personal helpline for professionals in the healthcare field. This work brings me into direct contact with people having a wide range of human experiences, and enriches my capacity to respond to the mental, emotional and physical state of others.

Following a BA, (King’s College, Univ. of Western Ont), and MBA (Ivey School, UWO), I worked for many years in the Cabinet Office of the Ontario Government. In 2002, I was honoured with the Queen’s Golden Jubilee Medal for public service.

Other background: Chair of a Committee, at the Gestalt Institute, on the Regulation of Psychotherapists in Ontario; past member, Board of Directors, Gestalt Institute of Toronto; other interests: music, travel, performance arts.
